TRAUT HISTORY
In 1982 the company was dissolved, and both Mark and Dave became unemployed. Since all they knew was drilling, it seemed like a natural choice that they would start their own business, and so began Mark J. Traut Wells Inc. Using private financing, and a $2,500 line of credit, Mark J. Traut Wells Inc opened in August of 1982 with 10 employees.
Mark and Dave had a lot of integrity and it showed through their service. They covered the old companies’ warranties without being paid for them. People really appreciated the extra service, and word spread. They immediately began to diversify their services, to even out the seasonal swing of residential well drilling, allowing them to keep their employees year round. They quickly expanded into related markets. As of 2007 they have 52 full time employees, and eight different departmental areas, with experts in each one. They continue to experiment with new technology to stay ahead of the competition, and they support their industry with donations to technical research.
Mark and Dave are active in many organizations including ones such as; Central Minnesota Builders Association, St Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Minnesota Water Quality Association, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Division of Water and many more!
The dedication that Mark and Dave started with in 1982 is still very prevalent today. They were named “Small Business of the Year” in 1998, and they both continue to be very active in the day to day running of the company. The company has extended its drilling nationwide, and continues to be a leader within the industry.
